Hot Type Consulting is a collective of professional journalist/developers who are available to work on consulting projects in their spare time. It is run by Matt Waite, principal developer of the Pulitzer Prize-winning website PolitiFact, and Chase Davis of The New York Times.

Our team has expertise in full-stack development, data analysis and visualization, teaching and training, and hardware hacking. Our clients have included the Texas Tribune, The New York Times Company, Reuters, Investigative Reporters and Editors, the Center for Investigative Reporting, the Association of Health Care Journalists and many others, including several in Europe.
